

Louise Carpenter, 87, of Union City, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. She was born September 28, 1926 in Battle Creek to Edgar H. and Emily (VanSickle) Daniels. She married Aldwyn R. Carpenter on August 18, 1945 in Battle Creek. He preceded her in death.
Louise was very involved in her church. She made and donated many pairs of mittens for the needy for many years. Louise was also involved in PTA, a Bluebird leader and a 4-H leader, where she taught knitting.
She is survived by a son; Allan (Annetta) Carpenter, daughters; Carol Carpenter, Neva Carpenter, Donna Edwards, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, a brother; James (Shirley) Daniels, sister-in-law, Betty Daniels, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Union City. Funeral services celebrating Louise Carpenter’s life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the First Church of The Nazarene, 12866 Beadle Lake Road, Battle Creek, with Pastor James Spohn officiating. Interment will be at Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, Michigan.
