Alicia (Murphy) McCormick, 73, of Hillside, N.J., passed away on April 13, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Spirit Church, Union, on Wednesday, April 17, at 9:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, N.J. Alicia was employed by the Elizabeth Board of Education for over 30 years, having worked as a teacher, guidance counselor and vice principal. She was also a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church, Union. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Alicia was the beloved wife of the late James R. McCormick Jr.; loving mother of Patricia Russell and her husband, Michael; stepmother of Darrell, Todd, and Kim McCormick; and adoring grandmother of Emily Russell, Thomas Russell, and Lachlan Russell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alicia's name to St. Columban's On the Lake Retirement Home, 2546 Lake Rd., Silver Creek, N.Y. 14136.
