Amedeo J. Barone

Amedeo was born in Pittston, PA and resided in Newark, before settling in Union, where he lived for 45 years. He was employed as a police officer for the Newark Police Department, 2nd precinct for over 35 years, retiring as Sergeant in 1983. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Police Benevolent Association. He was a hunter, sportsman, and an avid stamp collector.

Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Barone. Loving father of John Barone and his wife Maria, David Barone and his wife Effy, and Gerard Barone and his wife Susan. Adoring grandfather of Marissa Cruise and her husband Rob, John Joseph Barone, Stephanie DePaola and her husband Edward, David Barone, and Gerardo Barone; and great-grandfather of Jeremy and Hayley Cruise. Dear brother of Ronald Barone, Rosemary Girone, and Gracie DeMarzo.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union. A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, August 26th at Holy Spirit Church, Union at 10:30 AM, with interment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
