I am sorry to hear of the passing of Angelo J. Bonanno. He recruited myself, my mother, and stepfather, into the Hillside chapter of UNICO National, where I served him for 18 years as his secretary until the chapter's closure.  Angelo was also a fellow brother of the Hillside Knights of Columbus, which I was also a member of. I would even go as far as first meeting him as an infant back in 1984, when he signed my birth certificate.
To his wife, Leena, and daughter, Lisa, I offer my most heartfelt condolences to you both. He was a good man and led by example, service above self, the motto of UNICO National.
May he rest in eternal peace and in loving memory.

Very sorry to hear of Angelos passing when I first started in Hillside, He was one of the first to contact me offering support in the Public Works Dept. I've heard of all his good work over the years he certainly will be missed I'm sure by many.

Dear Lee and Family,
I was so sorry to hear  of Angelo's passing.
It was a pleasure to serve with him on the Finance committee at St. Catherine's.
He was always kind, gracious and thoughtful.
I enjoyed discussing with  him the status of the NY Yankees and sharing stories of our Italian heritage.

Angelo was bigger than life.  A great friend and father.  He was a long time member of The Hillside Historical Society. I served with him on the Finance Board of St. Catherine's parish.  Angelo was a parish trustee.  My big regret was I was never able to fulfill his wish to have fish & chips at The Thistle Restaurant in Lyndhurst.
He will be forever missed.  He lived a full life and I feel the loss already.  May God hold him near his sacred heart forever.
