Ann Steffaro

Visitation will be at the McCracken Funeral home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ 07083 on Sunday, October 9th, from 3 to 6 p.m. with a Parastas at 5:30 p.m. Services will be at SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Elizabeth NJ, on Monday, October 10th at 10 a.m. with burial in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ.

Born in Frackville, PA, Ann moved to NJ with her husband John who passed away in 1963. She retired from Wilson and Jones in Elizabeth where she worked in the shipping and receiving department. She moved to Campbell, Ohio in 1998 to be nearer to family and returned to New Jersey in 2007. She was a hard worker for and dedicated supporter of the Orthodox faith at every church where she was a member. She was a lifelong member and supporter of the FROC now FOCA. She was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the church choirs and the Altar Guilds and served on the church council. She spearheaded fund raisers for the churches and was one of the key organizers of the pierogi project at St. Peter and Paul’s in Elizabeth. An avid crocheter, she made afghans for everyone in the family and these now serve as mementos of her love.

She was a devoted mother to her children: Kathleen (Steffaro) Keimer and the late Peter Keimer of Edison; The Very Rev John and his wife Carol (Simerick) of DuBois, PA; and Robert and his wife Karen (Herman) of Irving, TX; beloved grandmother to Barbara (Keimer) Horsky of Edison; and David and Karen(Keimer) Gowarty of Bethlehem, PA; Robert and Beth(Steffaro) Willison of Slippery Rock PA; and Michael and Allison(Deerson) Steffaro of South River ; She was also adored great –grandmother to Timothy Horsky; Gabriel Gowarty ; Hannah, Nathaniel and Isabelle Willison and Alexis, Andrew and Arianna Steffaro.
