AnnaMarie (Ciccone) Gertner, age 74, of Somerset, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy was the time she spent with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Ann Ciccone, and her dear sister, Patricia, whom she held close in her heart.
She leaves behind the love of her life and husband of 31 years, Douglas. She is also survived by her daughter, Samara Landis and her husband, Matt, and her cherished granddaughter, Reyna, who brought endless pride and light into her life. If ever someone was born to be a grandmother, it was her.
Long before Reyna arrived, she had already perfected the role, pouring her heart into her grandnephews and grandnieces — JP, Erin, Ryan, and Sean — rarely missing a game, recital, graduation, or milestone. She showed up for the big moments and the small ones alike, cheering loudly from the sidelines, celebrating accomplishments with genuine joy, and offering steady encouragement through every stage of life. Her love was active, present, and unwavering.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Jeannie Bolger; her nephews, John Bolger, and James Bolger and his wife, Beth; along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed by her kindness and steady presence.
In addition to spending time with her loved ones, AnnaMarie enjoyed reading, playing Canasta, and walking.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 9:00 am until noon at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue, Union, New Jersey 07083.
A private committal will take place.
