Anthony was born on January 9, 1933 to Anna and Joseph in Kozowa, Poland. Anthony came to the United States in 1961 and settled in Newark “the Ironbound.” He moved to Union in 1982.
Anthony served 4 years in the Polish Army. Anthony worked for Superior Air Products and Breeze Eastern as a welder/electrician before retiring in 2010. Anthony was a member of the United Automobile Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America Local 267.
Anthony was a do it your own kind of guy. In the early years of his life in the United States he taught himself about automobile repair/maintenance and would do all his own repairs both minor and major on his home and cars, as well as always lending a hand to his friends and family in the same situations. He was a bit of a "green thumb" as well, always tending to his landscape and gardens.
Anthony is survived by his spouse of over 56 years, Janina, and his two sons, Les and George. He is also survived by his sister Wladyslawa Kolodka, grandchildren Courtney, Kevin, Hannah, brother-in-law Adam, his wife Maria and their two children Ewa and Anna.
Anthony was a member at St. Casimir’s Roman Catholic Church from the day he came to the United States until his passing.
A visitation for Anthony will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 9:30 AM at St. Casimir Roman Catholic church, 91 Pulaski Street, Newark, NJ 07105. A committal service to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, N. Arlington, NJ 07031.
