

He was born on March 24, 1942 in Boa Vista, Leiria, Portugal to his loving parents: Antonio Da Silva and Maria Florinda Guarda. Antonio emigrated to the United States on May 14, 1972. Before emigrating, he proudly served over 5 years in the Portuguese Army and was stationed in Mozambique.
Antonio's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and close friends.
He leaves behind his adoring wife, Guilhermina Guarda, their two devoted children and spouses, Jorge and Melissa Guarda and Patricia and Tom Long, and his affectionate grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Gabi and Bella. He also leaves behind his loving brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
A Portuguese funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church located at 403 Spring St, Elizabeth, on Thursday, August 15th, starting at 11:00am.
