Born in New Jersey, Barbara lived a full and spirited life rooted in deep love, laughter, and a fierce devotion to her family of five. Alongside her husband, Robert “Bob” Jones, Barbara built a beautiful life centered on compassion, resilience, and togetherness.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bob Jones; her daughters Jennifer Jones-Hannan (Michael), Holly Jones-Pickerell (Patrick), and Carli Witcher (Bryan); and her cherished grandchildren Lilly Anne Pickerell, Finley William Witcher, and Oliver Elliott Witcher. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert Bobucky (Judy), and their son Andrew; her sister Lauren Gener (Jose), and their daughters Rachael, Marissa, and son Matthew.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Paula Bobucky.
Barb was a longtime resident of Union, NJ and a faithful member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church. After retirement, she and Bob relocated to Carolina Shores, NC, where she embraced beach life and joined Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church to stay active in her community.
Her early career was spent working as a teacher’s aide, a role she deeply valued for the opportunity to nurture and support young learners and next generation of leaders. Barb also found joy in aerobics, philanthropy, and staying faithfully tuned in to her favorite soap operas — especially Days of Our Lives and Passions.
Barb will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love of music, water activities such as swimming, and her enduring strength through life’s many challenges. She gave selflessly, laughed often, and never missed a chance to cheer on her family. She was her husband’s heart, and the light in so many lives.
Her memory will live on in every beach walk, swim, and melody of “Lady in Red” — a song that her husband lovingly claimed as theirs.

Visitation will take place at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM.
