Betty "Maria" Moreira (nee Brauna), 86, of Bayville, N.J, formerly of Newark, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011. The family will receive their relatives and friends at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J., on Tuesday, Aug. 23, (today) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Holy Spirit Church, Union, on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 9:30 a.m. An interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J Betty was born in Solos Maranhao, Brazil, and moved to the United States in 1955. She was the owner of Betty's Beauty Shop in Bloomfield, N.J. The beloved wife of the late Jose M. Moreira, she was the loving mother of Mary Jane Harrison and her husband, Thomas; Fatima Blewitt and her husband, Robert, and Joseph Brauna Moreira; dear sister to her many brothers and sisters in Brazil, and grandmother to her 10 loving grandchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren.
