Dear Karen, Bruce, and the entire Pfeifer family, 

We are so sorry for your loss. Though I only met your mom once, Karen’s stories made her warmth, humor, and strong spirit shine through. She was clearly someone very special.

My deepest condolences to the entire family.  Bettyann was always so full of life every time she visited my place of business and basically anytime we saw each other.  She always made me laugh.  My very first memory of Bettyann was going back 40 yrs ago when she came to visit our new apartment with my sister Stella.  She looked at my drapes and began to rearrange the way they were held back.  I could only smile because that was Bettyann a woman with style who knew how to decorate.  

In this time of loss, may you all be lifted by love and comforted by the special memories that will always remain close to your hearts.

What stood out the most about you was your strength, your words of encouragement, your upbeat personality, your kindness and generosity. When I think about love, warmth, and wisdom, I think of you. You've been such a constant, comforting presence in my life, and I can't put into words how much that meant to me. Still, I wanted to try because you deserve to know just how deeply you were loved and cherished. Thank you for being my safe haven, my storyteller, and my greatest source of comfort. Some of my most treasured memories are the times we've spent together-your laughter filling the room, your gentle hands holding mine, and your words, always so full of love and encouragement, wrapping around me like a warm blanket. You've taught me so much, Grandma. Through your actions, you've shown me what it means to love unconditionally, to be kind without expectation, and to carry strength with grace. Your life is a story I look up to, and your wisdom has been such a guiding light for me in so many ways. I love you for the way you make everyone around you feel special, for your endless patience, and for your ability to find joy in the simplest things. You've shown me how to appreciate life's little moments and how to hold family close to my heart. Grandma, you had a way of making every day brighter just by being in it. Your hugs felt like home, your smile like sunshine, and your love was the most beautiful gift I ever received. Thank you for always being there for me, for cheering me on, and for teaching me how to stand tall while staying humble. I hope you know how much of who I am today is because of you. I love you more than words can ever truly say. You are my hero, my role model, and one of the greatest blessings in my life. I will love and miss you forever.

To a Wonderful and Loving Mother.   Thank you for teaching me humor and strength.   To be proud of our family and to always try to be a good person.   You have taught and shown me so many valuable lessons that I am forever thankful for.   When I became a Mother for the first time I was like most new Moms…a bit scared but overcome with Joy.   I’ll never forget what you said to me while we looked at Rebecca sleeping in her crib together for the first time….”now you know what true love is and how I felt about you when I first saw you.”   It had the most profound impact on me.   (My Dad was always the I love you parent.  I knew she loved me but my Dad said it all the time.  Mom said it every so often but its impact stayed with you, right Big Sister?   😁😁

I’m going to miss you but all the million memories of our time spent and adventures will sustain me for the rest of my life.   I now share that love of adventures with my children.  I love you Mom!!   Thank you for being the very best grandma, aka, Betty Boop to my Rebecca Catherine, Julia Elizabeth and Patrick Jerome.
