Those who knew Carmela will remember a kind-hearted, thoughtful presence—someone patient with others, generous in spirit, and selfless in the ways that mattered most. She carried herself with bravery through life’s challenges, and she was cherished and beloved by those fortunate enough to be part of her world. Guided by her favorite quote, “It’s not your story to tell,” Carmela was a good listener who consistently chose understanding, and she had a rare gift for seeing the good in everyone.
Carmela also made time for the joys that brought her happiness. She enjoyed cruising, vacationing abroad, and gambling at the casinos locally and in Las Vegas—embracing each getaway with enthusiasm and appreciation for the moment. She also had a love for the Arts and Theatre, Opera, and Country music.
She valued fellowship and community, and she was a long time Springfield Hillside Ladies Club 2004 member. More recently, she became an Elk at Springfield Hillside Elks 2004, continuing her connection to the people and organizations she cared about.
