Charles E. Green

Charles E. Green (Charlie), passed away April 6, 2019, at Brighton Gardens of Mountainside, NJ. Born in 1930 in New Brunswick, NJ, Charlie lived in Union, NJ for over 60 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eileen. He is also survived by his sister, Marylou of Beavercreek, Ohio and brother, Robert of Manalapan, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Louis Green and his brother Lewis, known as Pat, (Ellie). After high school Charlie joined the Marine Corps. He was a very proud American and Marine Corps Veteran having served in the Korean War. After he completed his military service, Charlie worked for Tenney Engineering in Union for over 40 years where he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers SMART Union Local 137. Eileen and Charlie were the ultimate couple as they accompanied each other everywhere they went. As a member of the Union Senior Club, Charlie was known for his square and line dancing as well as his much appreciated coffee making. Charlie was also known for his (and Eileen’s) charity, volunteer work and good deeds, both to the local community and to the neighbors they appreciated so much. Donations can be made in his memory to Angel Paws cat rescue organization in Colonia, NJ or the USO military service organization.
