

Eleanor M. Dixon, age 88, longtime resident of Mountainside, NJ., passed away peacefully early Monday, August 10th after a long illness. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15th from 9-11 AM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A service will take place at the funeral home at 11 AM, with interment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
Eleanor was born in Elizabeth, NJ graduating from Battin H.S. in 1944 and then attended The College of William & Mary. After marrying she lived for a time near both Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA before moving to Mountainside in 1965. She retired from Ciba-Geigy in Summit. She loved all animals and enjoyed traveling, with a knack for running into celebrities and political figures. She was a terrific amateur photographer and filled many albums with her travels, friends and family.
Predeceased by her parents, Claire and Frederick Kluge and her sister Claire Leary, she is survived by her brother, Bob Kluge of Roselle Park, NJ, her two sons Michael and Robert, two grandsons and three great-grandchildren, all residing in California. She was an inspiration and loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
