Eleanor was born April 7, 1925 in Westfield to loving parents Orazio and Mary Mammano.
She was educated in the Newark Schools, where she was valedictorian of her class, and the only member of her family to graduate High School.
Eleanor was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary Club, Union Pop Warner and VFW ladies Auxiliary.
Eleanor enjoyed sewing clothing for her children and herself, as well as furnishings for her meticulously kept home. She loved hosting her entire family for the Holidays and feeding them her delicious multiple course meals.
Through the years, Eleanor welcomed many to reside in her home, offering love and support to her extended family. Her door was always open, and her love was always boundless.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Ludwig Ehrl Jr. Brothers; Joseph, Philip, Edward, and Victor Mammano. Sisters; Anna Ferrera and Philippina Pagano.
Eleanor leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her beloved daughters Eloise Ehrl-Corbo, her husband Robert Corbo and Marleen Ehrl-Nemeth, her husband Michael Nemeth. Grandchildren; Jillian Kessel, her husband David Kessel, Michael Nemeth Jr. and Lia Ehrl-Corbo. Great grandchildren; Justin and Aubrey Kessel Eleanor is also survived by her special loving niece Angela Pagano along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitations for Eleanor will be held Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
A funeral service will occur Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Genevieve Catholic Church,
200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth, NJ 07208.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital OR the Wounded Warrior Project.
A graveside service will occur Monday, August 2, 2021 at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union.
