

Erma F. Butler, 96, of Cranford, NJ passed away on June 13, 2016 at Atria Assisted Living.
Erma was born and raised in Spotswood, NJ. She moved to Union, NJ in 1951 and lived there for 45 years. She settled at Atria Assisted Living in 2003.
Erma worked for Westinghouse during WWII and once worked for Thomas Edison at his lab in West Orange. She and her husband Herb very much enjoyed swing dancing to the big bands.
Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Herb Butler. Loving mother of Robert Butler and his wife Debbie, Janice Rivera and her husband Fred, and Bruce Butler and his wife Cindi. Dear sister of Herb Magee and Edith Ferencze. Adoring grandmother of Christopher and Alexander Butler, Patricia and Michael Rivera, and the late Benjamin Butler. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 16th from 2-7 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union. A service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, June 17th at 12 pm, with interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
In lieu of flowers Erma would appreciate that donations be made in memory of her grandson Benjamin Butler to Birnbaum JCC, 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater NJ 08807.
