He was born in Newark, NJ on August 9, 1929 to the late Abraham and Lilian (Weiss) Levine he later moved to Hillside, NJ where he raised his family and eventually settling in Union, NJ in 1979.
Ernest served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he was stationed in Greeland.
He leaves behind his daughter Karen Levine, a grandson Philip Alexander Menza, a sister in law Helen Levine, three nephews Randy Barry Levine, Dr. Rodger Rosen and Ricky Rosen, two nieces Sue Murphy and Jan Feinstein, his cousin Rita and Joe Messing, as well as many great nieces, nephews and his wonderful best friend Fred Orpin.
Ernest was predeceased by his parent Abraham and Lilian Levine, a son Robert Levine as well as his twin brother Albert Levine.
He worked for 41 years for the Newark Post Office.
Ernest was an animal lover especially cats and dogs, and in his younger years he raised boxers, and enjoyed spending at the home family in Mt. Freedom. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Cremation services are under the direction of the McCracken Funeral Home, Union, NJ.
