Born in Newark, NJ, Frances has resided in Union, NJ, since 1929. Frances enlisted in the Women's Army Corps shortly after D-Day, serving on bases throughout the USA, ranging from South Dakota to Florida. Frances attended Rutgers University, where she received a Bachelor Degree in 1950 with Highest Honors. She was accepted into Phi Beta Kappa in her junior year. She then received her Master Degree from Columbia University in 1951. Frances worked for Philip Morris Incorporated as a Personnel and Employee Benefits Manager, and was a Contract Consultant for Prudential Insurance Company. An opera lover, she subscribed to the Metropolitan Opera and traveled to opera houses in Milan, London, and Sydney. Frances was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary (Maglia) Faranda and her siblings Carmello, Josephine, Louis, Philip, and Vincent Faranda. She is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Avenue Union, Tuesday from 9-10:30 AM, with prayers at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
