

Genevieve Ignomirello (nee Proctor), 76, of Union, N.J., passed away at home on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Viewing will be held at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J., on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bartholemew's Church in Scotch Plains, N.J. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia, N.J. Gen (nicknamed Tootie by her family), was born on July 25, 1935, in Elizabeth, N.J., the youngest of seven children. She was a lifelong legal secretary and employed full-time at Becker Meisel, LLC, in Livingston, N.J., for the past 27 years. Widowed at an early age, Gen raised two small children on her own and will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and devotion to her family. In addition to being a fantastic cook, she also loved the beach, music, the theater, Devils hockey, trips to Atlantic City, and socializing with her many friends. Beloved wife of the late Filomeno Ignomirello, Gen is survived by her beloved children, Carolyn and Brian; grandchildren, Angela, Philip and Sophia; an adored sister, Marie Krommes; a dear sister-in-law, Phyllis Proctor; two brothers, Raymond Proctor and Edmund Proctor, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
