Guy Corigliano, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday September 26, 2011 at St. Barnabas Hospital, Livingston. Born in Newark, Guy was a lifelong resident of Hillside, N.J where he graduated from Hillside High School in 1944. He then joined the U.S. Navy, having proudly served during WWII. After his service, he graduated from Bob Jones University in 1952, and then became employed by the Essex County Probation Department as a probation officer, having worked for 40 years before retiring in 1997. Guy was also a very active member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, Montclair, and also active with the Youth Group at Grace Presbyterian, where they traveled to New Orleans to build homes for Habitat for Humanity. Guy was known by many as a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest, helping anyone and everyone he could. He will be greatly missed by all.
Guy was predeceased by his parents Serafina and Philemina, and his siblings Frank, Peter, Nicholas Corigliano, Cecelia Fedorczyk, and Victoria Popolillo. He is survived by his dear sisters Christina Peronick, and Diane Caravella, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Sunday October 2 from 2-6 PM to the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ. A service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 6PM. Interment and committal service will be held on Monday October 3 from the funeral home at 10 AM with the interment to be held at Graceland Memorial Park, 1900 Galloping Rd, Kenilworth. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Presbyterian Church, 153 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ on Sunday October 9 at 4 PM.
