

Harry Jean Jacques Desrouleaux Sr., was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, On September 4, 1937. He was the third child and only son of his parents Jacqueline (Nicolas) and Louis Mondes Desrouleaux. His eldest sibling was Jeanine (deceased), followed by Maryse. His youger siblings are Denise, Gisele, Jocelyne (deceased) and his half brother Mondes.
In 1963, Harry met the love of his life, Marie-Ange, and were married sometime after. They went on to have four children: Harry, Katiana, Jimmy (deceased) and Mackenzie. Harry was fiercely passionate about making a better life for his family. In March of 1978, he migrated to the U.S. with his family and settled in Irvington, New Jersey. Harry was a jack-of-all-trades around his home. Harry was known for being a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge, guidance and sense of humor were the foundation of his family.
Being the dedicated husband and father that he was, he pursued and obtained a career as a maintenance worker for Hayward Pool Supplies for approximately 17 years. On his leisure time, Harry enjoyed doing his crossword puzzles and shopping at garage sales. He loved listening to Opera, Kompa and Latin music. He was also a huge sports fan, especially of soccer and American football.
As fate would have it, in the year 2011 he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. His family showered him with much love after this. He faced another low point in his life when he lost his soulmate, Marie-Ange, in November of 2014. After many years of battling the disease, he quietly passed away on the morning of August 27th, 2021.
Harry is predeceased by his wife, Marie-Ange and his beloved son Jimmy. He is survived by his 3 children: Harry Jr, Katiana, Mackenzie and his daughters-in-law Junon, Sherley & his son-in-law, Eddy. Additionally, he is survived by his 6 grandchildren: Melinda, Nicolas, Miles, Dimitri, Ashley, Michael and 2 great-grandchildren Aniah and Josiah. Lastly, he is survived by his sisters Maryse, Denise, Gisele, and his brother Mondes.
The viewing service will be on September 10, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at The McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at The Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church located at 971 Suburban Road, Union, NJ. The burial will be held at the family plot located at the Hollywood Mausoleum, 1500 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ.
