Hilda Criado

Hilda Criado, age 90, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and grandson on October 1, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church 1212 Kelly Street Union, NJ, on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 10:15 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum Union, NJ. The family will receive their friends at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Friday October 6, 2023 from 5-9 PM.

Hilda was born on August 16, 1933 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She migrated to the United States in 1955. She worked at Burry Biscuit Company as a Packer for 20 years. She always saw herself as a servant of our Heavenly Father and the community. Her love for music and dancing superseded any hardships that she encountered.

What an example this humble, courageous, strong and wonderful woman has left us! To love and honor God. To love one another unconditionally. To forgive and hold no grudges. To be generous, caring and kind. To take life challenges and continue on!

She is survived by her adoring children Jose A. Criado, Victor M. Criado, Georgina Criado-Hall married to Otis L. Hall and Maria Valera married to Juan Valera, 11 doting grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Anaida Colon Ortiz, brother Efren Colon Ortiz, nieces, nephews and friends.

Hilda will be greatly missed. Her memories and love will be with us forever!
