Inge K Werchas

Inge K. Werchas, 89, of Rockaway, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 20, 1936, in Nürnberg, Germany, Inge immigrated to the United States in 1955. It was here, in Irvington, NJ, that she met the love of her life, her late husband, Karl Werchas.

Inge spent 38 wonderful years in Hillside, NJ, before residing briefly in Brodheadsville, PA, and eventually making her home in Rockaway, NJ, for the past two decades. She embraced her community wholeheartedly, especially enjoying time spent at the clubhouse, where she loved gathering with friends to play cards and games. Her warm spirit and joyful presence made her a cherished companion to many.

A woman of vibrant energy and enthusiasm, Inge filled her life with activities that brought her happiness. She loved skiing, dancing, swimming, and taking daily walks, greeting each day with gratitude and zest. Above all, she treasured her family, who meant everything to her. She was a devoted and proud mother to her two children, Robert and Heidi, and their families.

Inge is survived by her son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Patricia; her daughter, Heidi, and son-in-law, Nick; her grandchildren, Robby (and his wife, Kelly), Anthony, Rina (and her husband, Mitch), and Christopher; as well as her great-granddaughter, Holly Mae. Her love, guidance, and laughter will remain forever in their hearts.

Inge lived a fun-filled, inspiring life, and her kindness and strength will continue to shine through the family she adored. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held at McCracken Funeral Home, located at 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083, on November 26, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. A prayer service will follow at 11:45 am.

The committal will take place at Graceland Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 1801 Galloping Hill Rd, Kenilworth, NJ 07033, immediately following the services at 12:45 pm.
