He was born on February 24, 1935, in Pinar del Rio, Cuba to his adoring parents, Antonio and Victoria Diaz (Taño). Known from a young age for his stubborn streak and adventurous spirit.
He loved driving around and cherished time with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and meals. He lived life fully, and fearlessly, never letting anything—or anyone—hold him back from doing what he loved.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Acelia Diaz, his loving children Michael Diaz, Cathy Diaz, Sergio Diaz, Farah Cortazzo & Louie Cortazzo, along with 5 grandchildren: Andy, Brianna, Ethan, Mason & Chase.
His family and friends describe him best:
He’s always been a tough guy, stubborn, capricious, disobedient, brave, daring-but with a heart that couldn’t fit in his chest. He was always willing to give his life for his family and friends. He always did what he wanted, how he wanted, and when he wanted! He lived life his way, walking his own path.
