OBITUARY
Juan J. Gomez
March 16, 1937 – February 6, 2021
We are deeply saddened and with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved Father.
Mr. Juan J. Gomez went on to eternal rest on Saturday, February 6th 2021 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer, he was a warrior untill the end.
Juan was a quiet man who always put his family’s needs ahead of himself. From a very young age he held the heavy burden of providing for his mother and siblings during difficult poverty stricken times in post Civil War Spain. He was granted an opportunity to come to the United States to provide a better life for his wife and children in which he was lucky enough to forge ahead in life and fulfill his Immigrant American Dream of providing the best for his family. He worked as a longshoreman for over 30 years on the docks of Port Newark and was a member of Local 1235 of the International Longshoremen’s Association.
Dad will be truly missed and while we endure the short term anguish of losing him, We will always have cherished memories of him and the warm loving father that he was. We will have many wonderful memories of him triggered by something as simple as a five pack of Juicy Fruit gum.
Juan is survived by his loving wife Maria Luz, and children Maria Monserrat, Jacob, Cecilia and Johnny. His in-laws Jose Luis Ramos, Sergio Ginocchi & Cindy Hays. His grandchildren Natalia, Rebecca, Nicole, Xan and Mateo and his great grandchildren Maximo, Xan Jr., Nicolas and one more soon to come. He is also survived by four siblings, and many friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on February 12, 2021 from 8:30 - 10:15 am at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union.
Funeral Service will be held on February 12, 2021 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, 970 Suburban Road, Union.
Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union.

Grief over the loss of someone you didn’t know!!! I feel very connected to your dad and your family just by watching such a beautiful and amazing family video. The wonderful memories you cherish, the happy moments and the loving family that your mom and dad created together. Your family are my reminders of the unconditional love that we get from this two human beings and that we will never get from anyone else, but them. Because no one ever loves you , the way they do. What a beautiful recollection of memories, memories that will last forever. Your father will always hold all of you in his heart FOREVER.... Together by Love.
It is not a goodbye, it is a ..... you will meet again someday.
