Lorraine Heuer Quigley, of Summit, New Jersey, was born on December 15th, 1927 and passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2024. She was 96 years old and had resided for 8 years at Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center in Chatham, New Jersey.
Born in Union, New Jersey to Walter Heuer and Dorothy (nee Christman) Heuer, Lorraine was a longtime resident of Union, having graduated from Union High School in 1945. She grew up as the older sister of Dolores (nee Heuer) Trautner and was the loving mother of three children, Diane (nee Lisowski) Rogers, Nancy (nee Lisowski) Polisin and Robert Walter Lisowski. Lorraine was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Victoria (nee Rogers) Sheets, Sean Lisowski, Finn Polisin and Robert Lisowski. She also was blessed with a great-grandchild, Connor Sheets.
She worked for New Jersey Bell for many years, and retired in 1990. Always the avid social butterfly, she had many friends and liked to talk to people and find out all about them. Lorraine had an outgoing personality, always quick to smile and laugh, making everyone feel comfortable in her warm presence. She was passionate about traveling the world, exploring new places - like China, Australia, the Middle East, Europe - and took many different cruises enjoying many of them with her mother, Dorothy, and friends and family. She lived in Sarasota, Florida for 10 years, making many beautiful friendships and enjoying her daily walk on Siesta Key Beach, watching the sunset. After her long residency in Florida, Lorraine returned to New Jersey to reside with her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Polisin, in Summit, New Jersey where she loved being with her family and all of her dog children.
During her stay at Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center, Lorraine met many wonderful nurses, healthcare aides and doctors. Lorraine’s family is enormously grateful for the compassionate and loving care these healthcare angels provided her with - a big shout out to Mireille Francois!
On Sunday, July 21st, 2024, Lorraine peacefully passed out of this life.
