

Born in Poland, Maria lived in Newark, until her move to Union in 2002.
During her working years, Maria worked as a cafeteria worker at Overlook Hospital until her retirement some 20 years ago.
In her free time, Maria was dedicated to her church St. Casimir's in Newark, where she served as a secretary for the Rosary Society and church Lector for over 30 years.
She kept her priorities in line, God, family, and friends, and from this, she never wavered.
Maria was predeceased by her husband Bernard, brother Janek in Poland, and Granddaughter Nikki Nyzio Gangemi.
Maria leaves behind her loving children, daughter Elizabeth Nyzio and her Husband Wes, son Andrew
Pilecki and his wife Gail. Maria also leaves behind a sister Adela (in Poland). Maria was a dedicated grandmother to Jermey Pilecki and his wife Hope, Christopher Nyzio and his wife Tiffanie, and Dawn Pilecki. She was also a cherished great-grandmother of Dylan Pilecki.
Maria was a beloved wife, a wonderful mother, a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
A funeral service will occur Friday, September 29, 2023, 10:30 AM at St Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, 91 Pulaski St., Newark, NJ 07105.
A graveside service will occur Friday, September 29, 2023, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maria's memory may be made to St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, 91 Pulaski St., NJ 07105 US.
