Norma F. Ackerman, 95, of Asheboro, N.C., formerly of Union, N.J., passed away on March 11, 2014. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 15, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, N.J. A service will take place at the funeral home at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Norma was born in Newark, N.J. and had resided in Montville, N.J., and Union, N.J., before moving to Asheboro, N.C., in 2005. Norma was the beloved wife of the late James R. Ackerman; loving mother of James R. Ackerman and his wife, June; Gary L. Ackerman and his wife, Theresa, and Frances Krug; dear sister of Edward Rucki of Denville, N.J., and the late Albert William Rucki, Donald Rucki, Beverly Rucki, Virginia Jones, Joan Kinshella, and Gloria Berry, and was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norma's name to the Randolph Hospice House, 446 Vision Drive, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204.
