

Thomas Randolph Robinson , born in Mount Olive, NC on October 28, 1922 to the late Sivie Robinson and Rosa (Persall) Robinson. He was known to family, friends, and co-workers as Randy or Buddy. He grew up in Durham, NC and went to Peason and Whitted elementary school and graduated from Hillside Park High school in 1940.
He was induced into the Army Air Force in 1943 at Ft. Bragg, NC. His occupation during that time was Administration NCO-502 and was cited Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and WWII Victory Ribbon. His date of separation was March 7, 1946 at Ft. George G. Meade, MD as Corporal 61st Army Air Force. Once he was discharged from the Army Air Force he applied and was accepted into A&T (college) University. He majored in Political Science and minored in Social work. He graduated with his degree after 4 years.
During his time in college he met his bride, the late Leomia Rogers. They married in Baltimore, MD on September 26, 1953 and they moved to Elizabeth, NJ for a short time. They then moved to Linden to purchase their home.
Randy worked as a brewery worker in the early 50’s, then secured a career with the U.S. Postal Service. He worked at the Main Post Office in Plainfield for 40 years. He was a union official after retirement and for the Linden engineering department until 2009.
Randy was the beloved father of Belinda Robinson-Garcia and her husband Robert, the loving grandfather of Dariana, Jonathan, and Alex, the dear brother-in-law of Mildred Cannady. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
