Roberto Linis Orbe, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many passed away on December 7th, 2023 surrounded by his family at home. Known to many as Bobby, he was well-loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He was born in the Philippines on July 25, 1948, to parents Isidro and Leonarda Orbe.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley, his three children and spouses Sheila Trenery (her husband Rob), Jon (his wife Nympha), Shalini Ascalon (her husband Paris) and six grandchildren Sara, Matthew, Aidan, Shae, Megan, and Bea.
Bobby graduated from the University of the East in the Philippines in 1971. He emigrated from the Philippines in 1991 and started a new life here in the US with his family. He worked at ACuPowder/Kymera International as a Maintenance Repair Operations Supply (MRO) Coordinator for 27 years and just recently retired in September 2022.
Bobby’s world, however, has always been his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was what brought him immense joy. He had always proudly said that his family is his greatest accomplishment in life. He was the pillar that held this family together.
Aside from being devoted to his family, Bobby was known to be a loyal and generous friend to many. He always cherished his childhood friends and relatives who had given him so many wonderful memories. Up until his remaining days, he spoke to many of them with so much fondness and gratefulness for the time they had spent with him. He left this life content with gratitude and a full heart.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ on Thursday, December 14th, from 5 pm-9 pm; and Friday, December 15th, from 10 am-12 pm.
