Ruth Marjorie Platz

Visitation will be held at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union on Saturday, August 16th from 2-4 PM. Cremation will be private.

Ruth was born in Newark on February 15, 1920. Residing in Union for many years, she moved to Basking Ridge. She worked for Foster Wheeler until her retirement. At that time Ruth returned to Union to live before entering Manor Care facility in Mountainside.

Ruth was predeceased by her mother, Catherine Lord, and her beloved daughter, Peggy Helm.

Known affectionately as Margie to her family members and as Mimi by her two grandchildren, Cathleen A. Helm and Andrew F. Helm, Ruth is survived by grandchildren Cathleen and Andrew, along with Andrew’s wife Melissa and his sons, Jason and Landon. Her family also includes another great-granddaughter and a great-great-granddaughter .

Ruth is also survived by nieces and nephews and their extended families, Elaine and Joseph Lyons, Charles and Sonja Marsh, Marian Sullivan, Edward and Miriam Marsh, Thomas and Linda Marsh, and Ann and David Cranmer.
