He was born on November 15, 1941 in Irvington, New Jersey to the late Salvatore C. and Mary (nee Muscato) Filippone.
Salvatore owned Crest Refrigeration for many years.
He is survived by his two sons Thomas Filippone and Michael Filippone.
Cremation services are private under the direction of the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave, Union, New Jersey 07083.
