Socorro Espinosa Vargas Nieves, 90, passed away on August 21, 2018. She is survived by her children; Luis Nieves and his wife Diana, Elba Gleason and her husband John, and Maria Diaz and her husband John, her step-daughter, Georgiana Nieves, her grandchildren; Jeffrey, Victor Junior, Selina and her husband Gene, Christopher, Jason, Jennifer, Erin and her husband Clint, Lisa, Jaclyn and John Michael, her step-grandchildren; Marilyn Nieves, Marisol Lopez and her husband Joe, her great-grandchildren; Matthew, Kiera, Reagan, Amelia and Logan, and her great-stepchild; Joe Jonathan. Her son, Victor, and her stepson, Robert, predecease her. Socorro was the matriarch of the family who led with love, and selflessness. Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed.
A visitation will be held for Socorro on Thursday, August 23 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union. A prayer service will be held during the second visitation at 7pm.
