Ted George Loya

Theodore George “Ted” Loya, 80, of Tinton Falls, NJ, formerly of Spring Lake and Springfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 1, 2020. A Liturgy Service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church 1405 St. Georges Avenue Rahway, NJ on Friday March 6, 2020 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery Colonia, NJ. The family will receive their friends at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Avenue Union, NJ, on Thursday March 5, 2020 from 4-8 PM with a Parastis Service at 7 PM. Ted worked in the procurement department of Summit Medical Group prior to his retirement. Ted proudly served his country in the U.S Army. Ted loved his family and his church. He was strongly rooted in his Byzantine Catholic faith and traditions. This came through in his love for classical music and Hungarian Chardash. He also loved his traditional spicy foods as well as the Italian favorites his beloved late wife Anna Mary would prepare. When he was younger, he would spend weekends with his outing club and regale the family with camping and white water rafting tales. In his later years, he loved to go to Atlantic City and volunteer with the Knights of Columbus. Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife Anna Mary and daughter Sharon Loya. He is survived by his devoted children Ted J. Loya and Diana Faricelli, his loving grandchildren Noelle, Katarina, Hayden and Ethan, his dear siblings Andrew, Daniel and Larry Loya and Helen Hvasta, Anna Jane Petty and Kathy Bernacki. Ted is also survived by his girlfriend Julia Walsh and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation 1384 Perrineville Rd.
