

William Hotra, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16 with his loving family by his side. William was a longtime resident of Elizabeth and worked in New York City for Manufacturers Hanover Trust,retiring as Vice President of Consumer Loans, after 45 years of service. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII where he received a Bronze Star for his heroic actions in France and Germany. He continued his military career by joining the U.S. Army Reserves where he eventually retired as a Major. William was a model airplane enthusiast for many years, and also enjoyed fishing, both salt and fresh water.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Katherine, his two children Michael and his wife Carol and Janice Luddy and her husband Thomas. He is also survived by his 6 loving grandchildren Susan, Jonathan and his wife Bonny, Carin Valeo and her husband Patrick, Stephen and his wife Danielle, Daria, and Michael, as well has 6 great-grandchildren Patrick, Victoria, Jordan, Mason, Christian, and Caroline.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave Union. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 21 at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, Florida, 32256.
