Carol you inspired me more than you could ever know. You were a mother to me and took me in when my mother couldn’t care for me. It was only a year but it changed my life. I didn’t have a good family life but you showed me love and what life could be when I grew up if I worked hard. Thanks to you I grew up became a wife and mother of 3 beautiful girls and grandmother of 2. I became a productive person as a revenue and compliance audit manager. I’m the only child of 11 that went to college and had a career. 
I enjoyed catching up with you awhile back when I visited after having my daughter. I wish I could’ve been around more often, I sincerely miss you and thank you for the life I have.
Carol was a beautiful person and took in kids that had no one, I was one of them. I met her mom in big bear,  she was also a very nice loving lady. Carol spoke highly of her brother that had been in the Air Force. 
To Carol’s family my condolences she was an angel on earth and in heaven I’m positive.

In 2012, Carol gave her first cousin Doris Evelyn Horning Jones this autobiography:
AUTOBIOGRAPHY:   I graduated from Upland High School in 1963. I received an A. A. degree in accounting from Cheffey College in 1965-66. I took the 855, 1 yr course in civil and criminal, current laws and procedures. I worked in the Marshalls Office and the Sheriffs from March 1966 to August 2005.
I received 8 awards from San Bernardino County, California, Sheriffs and 4 merit ribbons; employee of the year in the Marshall's office for 4 years.
 My duties in the Marshall and Sheriff's office: I ran the 1 person office-1 person was me out of Chino Sheriffs office, sold real estate and recorded it with recorders office; collect atty fees for Public Defender. (In Judge Rutledge's court when a man shot the ballif, Carol disarmed the man.) 
 Carol has adopted, given a home to and cared for many stray dogs for many years. She enjoys gardening.  She is a loving, caring person so much like her mother.

David Sears served in the Marine corps during WW2 and was a Pearl Harbor survivor
Mother:  DOROTHY MARY LAMMERS; b. 17 September 1910 in Hartington, Cedar County, Nebraska; d. 	after 1981 in Tucson., Pima  County, Arizona; David bur. in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside County, California,  Section 5, #4905 (Section 4, grave # 1350.
