My daughter was one of the thousands Chris Armstrong mentored at Western Christian's summer camp for at least 5 or 6 summers.

She and her son taught my daughter how to swim at the age of 9 after a bad experience at the age of 3 resulted in a debilitating fear of swimming pools. She was the oldest and biggest who didn't know how to swim, but they encouraged her and instilled confidence. She now swims without hesitation.

I'm in total disbelief after pulling up today for our first day of camp, last year eligible for her age. Every year Chris has been there to greet us, knowing my daughter by name even though we only come during Summer, running to get one of those neon tee shirts for easy identification of campers. Today she was nowhere in sight but I assumed she was elsewhere at camp. When I picked my daughter up today she gave me the sad news.

Chris was always the model of gracious response to all the questions we had. I always felt confident in her leadership skills on the many trips my daughter took over the years.

Christine Dian, you were the epiphany of strength in young women, at least for my daughter and probably many others sons and daughters too. It nerve would have dawned on us that you would be gone so soon.....always strong and healthy, and a role model. Go with God.
