Clara attended the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1954. In 1955, she married Edward Francis Burt. Together, they moved several times, living in Georgia, Texas, and California. After her husband Ed was discharged from the Air Force, they settled in Pomona, and subsequently LaVerne, which became their long-term home.
For most of her career, Clara served as an operating room nurse at Pomona Valley Community Hospital. Her calm precision, sound judgment, and professionalism in the operating room were highly valued by surgeons, physicians, and fellow nurses alike. Nursing was not simply her profession, but a lifelong calling.
Her devotion to nursing and to Pomona Valley Community Hospital sustained her well past her formal retirement. The pride she took in her work, the relationships she formed, and the sense of purpose it gave her remained a vital and meaningful part of her life for many years.
Outside of her professional life, Clara enjoyed sewing and took great pleasure in cultural and social activities. She especially loved attending performances at the Candlelight Pavilion and Walt Disney Concert Hall, participating in bus excursions with her seniors group, taking trips to the casinos, and sharing regular lunches with her fellow nurse retirees—friendships she deeply valued.
Above all, Clara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her family and created a sense of home and belonging that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Francis Burt, with whom she shared many years of marriage and family life.
She is survived by her sister, Anna Mary Brice; her children: daughters Catherine Ann Alaniz (Richard), Carol Lee Sevilla (Larry), and Barbara Ann Tramonte (Leonard) ; and sons John Edward Burt (Kari) and David Michael Burt (Kelly). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Joseph Alaniz (Sarah), Sarah M. Alaniz, Lauren Burt Dorf (Andrew), Sean Burt, Brendan Burt, and Stephanie Sevilla Chacon (Frank); and by her great-grandchildren: Carlie, Rylie and Avery.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
