Deanna Rae Holdsworth

Deanna Rae Tilton Holdsworth passed away on January 6, 2022, after a more than 25-year battle with breast cancer. Deanna was born August 17, 1964, in Glendora, CA to Larry and Marion Tilton. She graduated from Glendora High School in 1982 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University, Provo in 1987. She married Gary Holdsworth in 1986 and they were blessed with two children, Heather Holdsworth Smith and Jonathan Holdsworth.

She loved children, books, and reading and was blessed to combine all these things into a job, working for 18 years as librarian at Hermosa Elementary School in the Alta Loma School District, retiring in 2020. Deanna was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many teaching and leadership callings over her many years of service. Her favorite thing in the world to do was to read a good book, and her daily motto was “Smile and Read Daily”.

Deanna is survived by her husband Gary, her daughter Heather Holdsworth Smith (husband Chase Smith), and her son Jonathan Holdsworth. Also survived by her mother, Marion Tilton, her brother Rod Tilton (wife Kelly Tilton), and their three children Jake, McKayla, and Karly Tilton.

A memorial service for Deanna will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 6829 Etiwanda Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739. A viewing will be held at 9am followed immediately by the memorial service at 10am. Interment at Forest Lawn Covina Hills.
