

Donald Altamirano passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in the comfort of his own home, just as he wished.
Born in 1944, Donald was raised in Los Angeles, California, where he developed a lifelong dedication to serving others. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962 and shortly thereafter answered the call to serve his country. From 1963 to 1965, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Topeka. His commitment to service continued in later years through his time in the Navy Reserves from 1980 to 1986, followed by service in the Army Reserves from 1986 to 1997.
Beyond his military service, Donald gave generously of his time to his community. He volunteered with the American Red Cross from 2004 to 2014 and later dedicated his time to the Fontana Senior Center and Children’s Disaster Services, always seeking ways to help those in need.
Throughout his life, Donald also built a respected career in air conditioning and refrigeration as a proud union member of Local 250, demonstrating strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his four children: Melody, Heather, Adrian, and Candice; his four grandchildren: Justine, Selina, Valerie, and Evan; and his great-grandchild, Jayne. He is also survived by his former wife, Tanya.
He is preceded in death by his 5 siblings: Arnold Jr., Nellie, Josephine, Linda, his twin Ronald as well as his parents Margaret and Arnold Sr.

Donald’s life was marked by service, compassion, and devotion to both family and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stone Funeral Home FD272, 355 E 9th St, Upland, California 91786, on June 26, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
A Committal Service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518, on June 26, 2026, from 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm.
