He was born on March 12, 1932 in Franklin, Pa to Earl and Mayola
(Brooks) Amsler. He graduate of Cranberry High School,
Class of 1961.
Don and Jacquelin (Johnson) Amsler were united in marriage on
June 30, 1962 in Van, Pa.
Don enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 and proudly
served his country which included two tours of duty in Viet Nam,
retiring in 1982. He then joined Northrop until his second retirement
after which he began his own ammo loading business which provided
him with many years of enjoyment while traveling to the Cowboy Single
Action Shooting events in the CA area.
Don enjoyed the outdoors with his family and friends spending hours hunting,
camping, 4 wheeler riding in the dunes, competing in the Cowboy Shooting events
and was famous for his story telling.
Don is survived by his wife; son Richard (Lana) of NE; daughter, Sheri of AL;
5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and sister, Lois "Pud" (Bart) Crist of FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stone Funeral Home, Upland, Ca.
