Donald “Don” Beets of Rancho Cucamonga passed away peacefully at home on January 30th, 2022, at the age of 78.
Don was born in Los Angeles on November 3rd, 1943, to father Raymond and mother Kay. He was the oldest of three siblings. After graduating from Alhambra High School, Don attended Pasadena City College and began his career at Prudential Insurance alongside his mother. In August of 1967, he married his first wife Linda. They went on to work in and eventually own their own appliance business. Throughout his career, he was known as a hard and dedicated worker who everyone enjoyed being around.
Shortly after getting married, Don and Linda moved to Rancho Cucamonga where they raised their three children and enjoyed life. For 43 years, the two of them shared a wonderful life together filled with frequent trips to Hawaii, his life-long passion for bowling, a little golf and plenty of time spent with family. Whether it was a small gathering or planned trip, Don was happiest to be around his family. He was always willing to lend an ear to whoever needed to chat. He was the first to volunteer to help if someone in the family needed assistance. He was the type to be there for his family anytime and anywhere.
After the passing of Linda, Don married his second wife Juanita in August 2014 and began the next chapter of his life. Aside from enjoying his time with Juanita, he also found pleasure in playing fantasy football, rooting for his favorite LA sports teams, tinkering around the house, and chatting and texting with his grandkids. Don’s love for his family endured and now included Juanita’s extended family as well, whom he considered his own.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Linda. He is survived by his wife Juanita; children Roy (Julie), Teri (Mark) and Dawn; Shelley (Eric) and their son Sean; Juanita’s daughters Cheri and Chantele; siblings Rick and Joanne; numerous nieces and nephews; and his precious grandchildren Joshua, Travis, Jonathan, Katelyn, Grace, Dolen, Jackson and Jensen.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday February 19th at the Rancho Christian Center located at 9477 Archibald Ave in Rancho Cucamonga.
