Long time Pomona resident Frances Josephine (Lesnikowski) Woody entered the kingdom of Heaven on January 16, 2019 in Upland, California with family by her side. She was born in Amsterdam, New York on May 25, 1923 and was preceded into heaven by her husband, mother, father, all 5 of her brothers and sisters, and many dear friends.
Frannie, as everyone knew her, was the most loving, patient, and kind-hearted women that anyone could have ever met. She was the most thoughtful, God-fearing, and happiest person to walk this Earth. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who lived for her family and was always there for any of them at a moment’s notice.
Frannie was a carhop early in her young adult life and went on to become the most fabulous waitress around at iconic Pomona restaurants, Orlando’s and Espiau’s. During her retirement, Frannie loved to travel the world with her husband, Woody of 64 years, and spend as much time with her family as she could. Everything was always Great, Great, Great, and she loved to shop, play Bingo and Bunco with her friends, and absolutely own the slot machines in Las Vegas! She was a lifelong Catholic and long term parishioner of St. Madeline’s Catholic Church in Pomona, rarely missing a Saturday Evening Mass.
Frannie is survived by her son Dick and her daughter Debbie, her grandchildren Gina, Candy, Sam, Philip, Mandy, and Chris, her great grandchildren, Curtis, Audrianna, Brianna, Mercedes, Nicolas, Lexie, Sammy, Sophia, Raelynn, and Savannah, and her great-great grandchildren Molly, Taryn, and Benson.
