Gloria Evangeline Robertson, 95 of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, entered eternal life peacefully on November 5, 2022. Gloria was born, Gloria Evangeline Derosier, on December 31, 1926, in Spencer, Massachusetts to Henry and Susan Derosier. She grew up in Spencer, with her brother Raymond and sisters Rita and Theresa. She graduated from Spencer High School and later enjoyed attending her class reunions. Gloria met the love of her life, Robert J. Robertson, from Bayshore, NY, on a blind date and they married in 1946. They were married just shy of 75 years, upon his death in 2021. From 1949 to 1959 Gloria and Robert welcomed three sons and three daughters, born in three different states. The Navy kept them moving until they finally settled in Rancho Cucamonga in 1972, where they lived out the rest of their lives. Gloria and Robert also welcomed 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren over the years. Gloria was always dedicated to her family and Catholic faith, being very active in her parish no matter where she lived. Gloria and Robert were founding members of the St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church in Rancho Cucamonga, where for many years she helped clean and care for the interior of the church weekly. She also supported the annual festivals and various retreats until as she put it “it’s time for the young ones to take over”. She was affectionately known as the ‘pie lady’, at her church as she supplied the annual festival with many pies each year to be sold. It also wasn’t a party until her pies arrived! Gloria also supported her husband in his longtime dedication to the Knights of Columbus. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, always putting family first, making sure everyone had what they needed. She was an excellent seamstress, a wonderful cook and oh what a baker she was! She was a strong, gracious, and grateful woman, who showed those around her how to enjoy life and get everything you can out of it. She loved nature and appreciated all its beauty. She believed in working hard and being accountable. In her later years, she went to work for Sunderland Press and enjoyed learning and doing her job and joining in the fun they all had on Laughlin turnarounds! She was happy to be able to travel the world with her husband, going on many trips and cruises even insisting on kissing the Blarney Stone! She was crazy for playing bingo and absolutely loved to dance and enjoyed many types of music. Gloria was an amazing, beautiful woman and she will truly be missed. Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Robertson 97, her son James P. Robertson 25, who tragically died in an accident and a daughter Carol A. Robertson, who passed suddenly at 67, also her sister Rita Vasale and her brother Raymond Derosier. Gloria is survived by her sons, Raymond A. Robertson of Coos Bay, OR and Daniel W. Robertson of Hesperia, CA, her daughters, Margaret R. Robertson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Eileen R. Lindermann of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, also her sister Theresa Parker of Paxton, MA.
