It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Wories from Upland, who left us peacefully at the wonderful age of 100 on 1-25-25 surrounded by loving family.
Jack was born on 10-26-1924 in Groningen Netherlands to Adam Wories and Romkje Gringhuis. He had three brothers John, Bert and Peter Wories and two sisters Tina Romanchuck and Ann Thys.
Jack was in the Royal Netherlands Army during WWII. He Immigrated to the U.S. by boat in his early 20’s to New York.
Jack was a Manager of a Meat Department for several years at Super A Foods.
He met his second wife June Helen Carlson in Indiana Illinois. They moved to California and started a family. They had Michael Wories and Cyndy Shetler.
Jack has three Grandchildren Diana Herrera, Joseph Marohn and Nicole Rivera, and 6 Great Grandchildren, Marissa, Audrina, Olivia, Greyson, Madison and Isla.
Jack later married his last wife Mary Ann Wories. Jack also had 4 Step Children, Judy, Jim, Jenny and Tom. Eight Grandchildren and Twenty Great Grandchildren from Mary’s family. Jack and Mary did not have any biological children together.
Jack loved to travel and took his family back to Europe for 5 weeks to tour England, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands. He made several trips to Europe and many other wonderful places.
Jack became a U.S. Citizen in April 1993 to vote for his political party that he was very compassionate about.
Jack was actively involved at the Chino Senior Center where he loved to play pool and bingo. Without fail, he attended Bingo every Tuesday and Friday up until 6 months before his passing because that was his passion. His Bingo friends were family.
