James Arthur Talley

Affectionately known as "Papa or Pops" passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, after a short hospital stay. Born on March 6, 1943, in Anniston, Alabama, James's life was a testament to love, learning, and resilience. James was the cherished son of Effiel Lanier and Russell Talley. Though predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Phyllis Talley, his beloved brother Henry David Talley, and a beloved little sister, James's legacy lives on through his extensive family and friends. He leaves behind adoring children, DeJuan Talley and Shanette Oliver. His siblings Dot Goodbread, Anne Talley, Cynthia Talley, La French, and Ray Talley, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends, hold his memory close. James was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren—Jessica, Jaimie, Vincent, and Jordan—and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

A Committal Service will be held at Rialto Park Cemetery, 200 N Willow Ave, Rialto, CA 92376, US, on September 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
