I MET JOHN IN 1958. HE HELPED ME IN SO MANY WAYS.MY HUSBAND AND I HAD JUST SEPARATED.HE SAW THAT MY 5 CHILDREN HAD A GOOD CHRISTMAS.HE CAME TO ME WHEN LESLIE DIED.HE WAS SO UPSET . I HOPE I HELPED HIM.RIP JOHN.

My grandpa was a great man who accomplished many things in his lifetime. There are so many wonderful things that can be said about him. I always looked forward to our Sunday calls right before 60 min and I would laugh every time he would tell me I was looking good.  Every trip to CA the first and last person I wanted to visit with was him.  Seeing him with my dad always made me proud to be a Meier. And when I got married, I told him that I was keeping my last name in honor of him. I will forever miss his big hands, sparkling eyes and loving heart. I love you, Grandpa. Thanks for calling.

Our dearest father, you will be deeply missed. Your love will never leave us. We can see you running with a perfectly whole body in heaven. It is an amazement that a whole life-time, for you, has passed; however, we rejoice that we will join you in a blink of an eye.

We were saddened to learn of John's passing. Always a gentleman & good friend to everyone. His kind heart & Elk spirit truly made him 'one of a kind.' God Bless You John

John was a very strong and independent man.  He was a great big man with an even bigger heart.  When he found out that my husband had left me, he helped me get my car fixed and always asked if I had groceries in my house.  I will never forget how kind he was to me.  I know that beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a very special place in heaven for him.  He truly will be missed by a lot of people at the Elks and American Legion.
