Mrs. Ristaino,I don't know if you will remember me but my name is Suzan and I helped you and Captain Ristaino with the debris clean of your property after the Sawtooth fire. I am so very sorry to hear that Captain Ristaino has passed away. I have the fondest memories of my many communications and meetings with you both. I developed quite a fondness for you both and thought the world of you. I am very sorry for your loss. Sending you lots of love. Very sincerely, Suzan Garrido

So very sorry to learn of John's passing. I meet him in 2004 when he let me shoot a teaser for a film on his amazing property, Hayden Ranch. We spoke a few times after that and I visited with him and his wife in 2006, but that was the last time I saw them.

He was a great guy and went out of his way to help me, a struggling indie filmmaker. I'll always be grateful to him and his lovely wife.

To the Ristaino family, I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of John. I met him several times when he came to CT to visit his Mom and Dad. He was very nice to my parents, Vin and Mary. John's stepfather and my Mom were brother and sister. May he rest in peace.

I was a classmate of John at Middletown CT High School Class of 1946. I am sorry to learn of his death, and extend sympathy to his family. At 50 and 60 year class reunions, they held contests for who had come from furthest away. Most of our classmates were fuzzy about California geography and thought that Southern California must be further than the San Francisco area. But as a pilot John knew better and conceded to me. John told me that he had done well financially by investing in property based on observing growth patterns while flying. Buy and wait for growth to catch up.

Carolyn, John, Sterling, Cleoniece:
It was my extreme pleasure to meet all of you at your beloved Husband, and Father's viewing on Sunday. It was also my extreme pleasure and honor to have known "Cpt. John" and met him in 1958.
Please know that Cpt John is at peace after "Flying West" on his last trip and has made his final "landing" in our Lords grace.

Mrs. Ristaino, Sterling, Nina and Johnny,

My thoughts and deepest condolences are with you during this time of loss.

Mr. Ristaino was a great guy to me. Quite the character. I have many fond memories from those neighborhood days. I enjoyed reading about his youth. Interesting indeed. I wish I had spend a bit of time with him, as an adult, at Pioneertown. But my childhood memories and reading about his childhood is special enough.

All the best to you all.
