Surrounded by his loving family, Lloyd passed away at the age of 90 in his Alta Loma home on December 6, 2013. Lifelong resident of the local area, he was a graduate of Chaffey High School and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before enlisting in the US Army. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater. In December 1942, Lloyd married the love of his life, Marian, and they enjoyed over 70 years together. Lloyd was a citrus rancher for many years. He served on the Board of Directors of: the Alta Loma Elementary School District, the Cucamonga County Water District, the San Antonio Hospital Foundation, and was Past-President of the Rancho Cucamonga Rotary Club. Lloyd was appointed General Manager of the Cucamonga County Water District where he was instrumental in acquiring water rights to meet the needs of the expanding community. Upon his retirement, the Lloyd W. Michael Water Treatment Plant was dedicated in his honor. Lloyd loved spending time with family & friends, traveling, deep sea fishing, camping and entertaining others. Lloyd will be remembered as a man of integrity, a dedicated community servant, and a loyal family man with an incredible sense of humor. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marian; his 4 children: Dennis (Gina) Michael, Marianne (Ed) Quinn, Anita (Michael) Schroeder, Virginia (Keith) Jones; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Irons & Chad Michael ; Rachael & Jenna Schroeder; Emily & John Quinn; Alysia & Allison Jones; 5 great-grandchildren; and his sister Gale Goldsberry. Memorial contributions may be made to: The United Methodist Church of Cucamonga, 7690 Archibald Ave., Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730 or San Antonio Community Hospital Foundation, 999 San Bernardino Rd. Upland, CA 91786. Services will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 10:00am at Stone Funeral Home located at 355 E. 9th St. Upland, CA

What a full life he lived. Fully lived and fully loved by you all. And his legacy is continued on through the amazing grandchildren he nurtured. His name will be spoken regularly as his stories are part of the family heart. An amazing man, moving on, as we all will. He will be missed but never forgotten.

What an amazing man he was...and his light still shines on all of the family and people who he touched through his life. I see his smile in Anita and her girls...whom we love so very dearly. May you all know we are sending love and light and thinking of all of you and look forward to, when you are ready, holding you and shining the light of friendship and family from your Sonoma County family up here. He was truly a family man. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. I remember he always had a smile and was like a second father to my sister and I. My love and prayers to all of the Michael family. Truly, the most loving, blessed family I have ever met. God bless all of you.
