             Marvin Oliver Lange is my Grandpa. Sadly, he passed away before My name is Marvin Jay Lange and sadly, my Grandfather passed away before I was able to bring my three children down to visit him and Grandma. I had promised everyone that I would bring them all down to Disneyland, but was not able. My Grandmother is still alive and my youngest daughter, Mattesun Marie, is her spitting image. I hope that I can show her to my Grandmother before she passes. They both have the exact same crystal blue eyes, the same shape of head and even the same unique voice. I would love for them o meet in person!
              My Grandfather was a very hard working man that owned his own plastering business in Southern California. He taught my father, Marvin James Lange, the art of masonry and how to work hard and play hard. My dad also passed down those traits to me. I have one son and decided to keep the "Marvin" theme by naming him Marvin Mark Skyler Lange. 
               I remember planting a tree with my Grandpa when I was young. I also remember looking forward to visiting my Grandparents because they had many animated "toys" hanging on their walls. One was a fish that would looked dead, but would come alive when you walked by it. The fish would move and begin singing the song, "Take me to the water.'' He also had several talking heads that would move around, roll their eyes and even spit water out their mouths when you pulled the neck tie.  The Grandparents house was always decked out, to the extreme, with Christmas displays each and every year. 
               I miss my Grandpa and I know that he is in a much better place than still here. I'm sure that he is looking down and shacking his head in disgust by what is happening right now in this God awful world. 
             I asked him once, "Grandpa, what advice can you give me now that you are towards the end and I am at the beginning of this time here on earth?"
             And he replied, "Work hard while you are 

My family and I had the privilege to meet Mr. Lange last year. The reason for the meeting was my brother. It was clear how much love, and pride he had for John and his family. We were both glad to meet each other for our own reasons. 
He seemed to live a full happy life, leaving all to meet him with a smile and a full heart. Thank you for loving my brother so well. We’ll take care of him. Blessings to you Mrs. Lange. 

My heart is sadden by the news of the passing of Marvin Lange, my Grandfather.  

 I always loved hearing the stories grandpa and grandma would tell about their lives and how they met, where they grew up, where they worked.   That time was always so special to me. 

I have so many great memories of visiting my grandparents house in Yucaipa when I was a child. I remember all of us grandkids couldn't wait for grandpa to put a saddle on Candy Horse so we all could get a turn to ride her.  Then before we would leave to go home grandpa would bring out his penny jar and we all would get a turn at reaching in the jar to grab as many coins as we could.   We would be so excited to count our coins.  

Another memory I have was when I was little I remember grandpa did construction work at Knott's Berry Farm Steak House and wrote our names in the concrete.  We were always so excited to look for our names.  

I will always cherish the memories I have of grandpa Lange for the rest of my life.
